The LCE also includes the Tiered Body Armor System (TBAS), which includes scalable add-on components that allow dismounted personnel to quickly adjust protection levels in response to combat conditions. A radio communications interface is also provided by the CHP. For improved SA and eye protection, the BLOPS offers interchangeable lenses. The TCH provides ballistic and trauma protection, as well as SA sensors. The development of a proof-of-concept three-kilogram fully-passive exoskeleton to transmit the weight of dismounted soldiers' battle equipment directly to the ground and lessen fatigue has also been accomplished. Cables attach to a solid backpack frame and travel down the back and legs to the boot's base, transferring about two-thirds of the backpack's weight to the ground. Metabolic cooling is also being considered, which would use the soldier's body heat to power a cooling device.

Elbit Systems has secured a $50 million contract to provide the Royal Netherlands Army with additional digital soldier systems. As part of this agreement, Elbit Systems will deliver advanced combat network capabilities integrated into vehicles, including the TORCH-XTM Dismounted Command and Control systems and E-LynXTM Software-Defined Radio systems. These solutions were tailored to meet the specific needs outlined by the Netherlands' Defence Material Organization and have been field-tested by the Royal Netherlands Army troops.
