The Living With Digital report series is a regular offering from Futuresource Consulting's consumer research program. This wave of research carried out in August 2024 across the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Japan and Australia, bringing together audience and consumer habits and behaviours across all entertainment categories.
Products and consumer attitudes under review in this report include an assessment of Premium, cinema, EST and TVoD, SVoD, AVoD and FAST, along with wider entertainment consumption habits.
Based on the latest claimed responses around financial stability, we see further improvements in this wave to the degree of those who feel they are somewhat or significantly worse off. The greatest improvements come from the European countries, with the UK seeing the biggest improvement followed by Italy and Sweden.
Increase in frequency for those attending the cinema, with the UK and USA seeing near 1 in 5 movie fans attending at least 7 times in the past year.
Majority of countries within the survey see an increase year-on-year in level of active shoppers across some form of the digital transactional market, with the UK and Canada seeing the largest gains.
Ad-tiers making a difference for subscription services, with up 44% of those subscribing to an Ad-tier being new to the service.
